Een galsteen is hard geworden gal in de galblaas of in de galwegen. Gal is een vloeistof in het lichaam die helpt om vet eten te verteren. Het is een dikke, geelgroene vloeistof. Wanneer de gal teveel indikt, ontstaat er een galsteen.
